As a curious romantic, I am genuinely interested in hearing about love stories. I picture moments, slices of life in standstill. I frame two people in their isolated moment, and I think to myself somehow, through the odds and adversity they have found each other. It’s a miraculous time, perhaps an unlikely phenomenon.
What’s their story?
The love story is a timeless classic that never ends. It persists, adapts, changes and is passed over to the next generation. Some stories begin hilariously ironic. “At first, I wasn’t attracted to him at all…” Some stories age like the finest wines, “We worked together for twelve years before she finally asked me out.” Our times have changed, but the theme is a familiar one, “She said ‘hi’ first... over social media.”
These stories are celebrations. I enjoy them as tales of maturity, risk and moments of vulnerability.
Hi, I’m Terry and I photograph love as the classic, timeless story that it is. I graduated with a philosophy degree from York University and studied photojournalism at the Loyalist College. I frequently get comments about how my hair defies gravity. I have undergone corrective laser eye surgery in Taiwan. For three months, I gave online dating a fair chance. I have received flowers from women and I liked it. I once drove a Prius from Toronto to Las Vegas and back. The highest elevation I have ever climbed has been ~14000 feet. I feel much more calm scrambling to the top of a mountain than diving to the bottom of the sea.
